HEAT CHECK

PROJECT: SHE DID IT

ARTIST: JIANNI SIMONE

1. Get It Right

  • Dope song to start the album off, getting a Jhene Aiko type of vibe from it. This beat goes perfect with her flow. Easily could've heard this on Souled Out which is good!

BANGER REVIEW: 7.0/10.0

2. She Did It

  • A little more rebellious attitude on this track, they don't want her to win but she won again anyways. Perfect track to stunt on your ex with, doesn't get more relatable than that!

BANGER REVIEW: 8.0/10.0

3. Way Up

  • Starts off the tracks with some "ayes" to get us hype and damn does not disappoint when the beat hits. There's a dope combo of tenderness in the chorus that blends perfectly with the rawness of her bars in the verses. Speaking of which best quotables out of any song so far, "Roll up a blunt hit pass witcho lit ass" is one of my favorites but there's hella more on here that you will connect with!

BANGER REVIEW: 9.0/10.0

4. All That

  • Chorus instantly gets stuck in your head, her voice is very intoxicating one of the better female vocalists we've heard in awhile. This one's my favorite so far, something about makes it easy to just vibe out to.

BANGER REVIEW: 8.5/10.0

5. Cake

  • The suspense is killing me this beat drop is gonna be special. Sure enough, the production on this one is wavy as hell and Jianni matches the intensity perfectly with her lyrics about none than other than her cake. Can't get enough of this, sheeeesh definition of a banger!

BANGER REVIEW: 9.0/10.0

6. Drugs

  • Dreamy opening, seems fitting for a song called 'Drugs.' Can't stress it out enough Jianni's voice just has an overall calming effect on you that puts you in a trance. This really shows up on this spacey trap vibe that gives her this angelic voice. She's fucked up off the drugs and love, which happens to everyone nowadays whether it's dealing with their demons or with an ex looking to escape.

BANGER REVIEW: 8.0/10.0

7. Nobody Else

-    Last track, starts off mellow grabbing you in and not letting you go until the soft chorus comes in and she says she wants 'Nobody Else.' Getting Rihanna vibes off this one but mixed with some SZA...pure bliss. She really knows how add an edge to even her more simpler songs, which sets her apart from others.

BANGER REVIEW: 7.5/10.0

Overall: Definitely a clean cohesive sound. You can tell she’s very gifted when it comes to the vocals, no doubt! The production and ad-libs/background vocals are also on point throughout. She knows what he strengths are and fully uses them to her advantage. Next project would love to have a feature to offset her soft voice with someone who's more gritty so we can fully hear and appreciate the contrast. Like I said before, reminds me sonically of Jhene Aiko's protege in waiting and now with her moving in a different direction maybe she can pick up right where 'Souled Out' left off with the fans. In conclusion she's got that IT factor and the pipes to takeover the soulful mellow rap lane if she chooses because this was more than an impressive project. This was her introduction to the masses, she wanted to find her sound, evolve, and 'She Did It.'
