JAH FRIDA - ALL JOKES ASIDE(HEAT CHECK EP REVIEW)

February 22, 2018

Lucid Dreamz

Brings back the Flume vibe/memories with a bit of blues in the spring time when I would

walk to school.

Smooth flow especially the beat, really getting into this one!

The storytelling and delivery is on point.

BANGER REVIEW: 7.0/10

2. Roll One

Loving the tropical vibes, plus the deep meaning of the lyrics really help this one stand out.

That little bit of guitar at the end was killer.

This is smoother than a jar of Skippy.

'Roll One' up, kick back and chillax to this one.

BANGER REVIEW: 7.5/10.0

3. Stardust

"Persistence is key" is definitely the major "key" on this flow, reminds me of "WhatupObvi" from

the Alien Farm,

BIG BAR ALERT.

'Stardust' will have you feeling out of this world, literally.

"Stellar" title.

BANGER REVIEW: 8.5/10.0

4. HUNGRY

Admiring the slow jazz throughout the whole song, not a fan of the monotone

but definitely relaxing since it was only one line.

Heavy replay value, liked a lot when he said thanking God for all we do.

Reminds us to stay humble.

This song sounds airy and light, very easy listen!

BANGER REVIEW: 7.5/10.0

5. All Jokes Aside

That deep persistent chopped and screwed vocal reminds me of ASAP Rocky.

This will change your whole perspective on life, eye opening for sure.

Flow for days, hella laid back feel..he laid this one down!

This beat just sounds good to the ears, been nodding my head along the whole time.

No "joke" the whole time..

BANGER REVIEW: 7.0/10.0

Overall: 7.5/10🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

What an outstanding introduction to rising hip hop Jah Frida. The man knows his production and how to set the vibe by taking you you to different vivid locations with his music. I didn't hear any weak spots in these sounds, but definitely "Stardust" has the best production and vibes. The middle half of the tape was most definitely the strongest. This is the type of lowkey project you put on to study or do homework to, because it just inspires you. Jah seems to already know his sound, and for this being a debut project it's insane how clean and well rounded it turned out!

Can definitely see him taking on the Mac Demarco/jazzed up Mac Miller lane and really start gaining momentum!

But again for 'All Jokes Aside' being a debut project for him, Jah really got the last laugh because he killed it.
