An upbeat alternative twist with a pop melody, 'Clean Me Up', by Thomas Headon is a song I think some of us can relate to on a religious level. The song depicts a story of a broken heart that feels it can only be fixed by their past lover.
The song opens with Thomas coughing into the mic then going straight into the first verse. Only a lead synth eventually rolled by a bass is heard. It isn't until the first chorus, processional instrumentation begins to be imputed into the song driving energy through the second verse that keeps heads bouncing for the rest of the song.
Lyrics That Stick:
"Perfume on the sink
And my breath still smells like drink
I can't feel my head or think
And I gotta work today."
